This is one of the simplest tutorials that i have written.

1) Open a new document and write up your text. Any color and font is okay.

2) Apply your favorite Layer Styles to the text. I did u some quick Bevel and Emboss.

3) Make a new layer above the text layer and draw a gradient to the left of the text.

4) Now, with this layer selected, hit Ctrl + G. This will create the mask. It means that this gradient will not be displayed in those areas where the text layer is transparent.

5) Now, switch over to ImageReady by clicking on the small icon on the bottom of the Toolbar. Make a new frame and move the gradient over to the right. Make sure you hold down Shift while doing this so that the movement will be in a straight line.

6) Hit the tween button in the animation window and choose 15 frames or any other value that suits you. Rewind and hit play. You'll have something like this :

To save this, you need to go to File -> Save Optimized As... in ImageReady
